On 15 February, the Gorbachev Foundation hosted a discussion on “Education reform: As seen by the public”The Civil Dialogue Forum continued a series of discussions on the current situation in the education sphere. The first event in this series was a Round Table, attended by experts and held on 15 December 2010.
Mikhail Gorbachev: “Despite the existing Constitution, anticonstitutional measures are being taken. And who is calling the shots? Leaders – leaders in the education sphere. The new Russian President also felt it – when they brought him that draft law for signing. He did sign it, but did not let it go further. Hewasrighttodoso. Although he could have done even better if he had simply raised the issue, rejected the draft law and made them put it up for debate – in all organisations and spheres....”
