Women of the Third Millennium: Civic and Political Responsibility
The project Women of the Third Millennium: Civic and Political Responsibility is a partnership program of The Raisa Maksimovna Club, The Gorbachev Foundation and McGill University of Montreal, Canada. The project was also implemented with support from well-known Russian research centers, such as the Institute for Socio-economic problems of the population at the Russian Academy of Science (director Natalya M. Rimashevskaya) and Women’s Information Network (director T.G.Troynova). It addresses the issues of civic and political responsibility of women in the third millennium as issues of democracy and the future of Russia.
On March 30-31, 2004, the Gorbachev-Foundation held an international conference Women of the Third Millennium: Civic and Political Responsibility. The conference materials were published in 2005.
